The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) is a treasure trove of Tasmanian history, art, and natural wonders.

Location & Opening Times:

QVMAG has two locations:

  • The Museum at Inveresk: This main location houses the history and natural sciences collections. It's open daily (except Christmas Day) from 10 am to 4 pm.
  • Queen Victoria Art Gallery: Located at Royal Park, this gallery showcases the visual arts and design collection. It shares the same opening hours as the Museum at Inveresk.

Pricing:

Entry to QVMAG is free for all visitors, making it an accessible and budget-friendly activity. However, donations are always welcome to support the museum's ongoing efforts.

Important Information:

  • Guided Tours: Explore the museum and gallery with a knowledgeable guide. Tours are available for a fee and can be booked in advance.
  • Planetarium: Immerse yourself in a celestial adventure at the on-site planetarium at the Inveresk site. Shows run throughout the day and require a separate ticket.
  • Gift Shop: Browse a wide selection of souvenirs, including locally made crafts, art prints, and educational resources.
  • Accessibility: Both locations are wheelchair-accessible. Additionally, the museum offers resources for visitors with disabilities.
